This 36x24” drawing is a tribute to the art of Fernand Léger, a well known French painter and sculptor who worked as an architectural draftsman and invented his own form of cubism. My father was a builder/architect and I grew up with blueprints of building designs - I am very influenced by these experiences and my mechanical shapes here are designed to evoke a futuristic mood. I love how the technique of digital compositing allows me to quickly lay in color, texture and opacity. In this way I can rearrange elements until settling on just the right composition.
