I find beauty in the patterns and shapes in the natural world, the rhythms of music, and the emotions of human beings. All of these inspirations are at play in this work.

I started laying down texture using a palette knife to create thick, impasto strokes, then creating lines with a pencil and then blocking in color with an idea of how light might create a pattern in the evening. There’s a sense of rhythm that creates a sense of energy and excitement. This was a very freeform exercise that turned out so well.
